"Goody's" friend since '63. We each got to know new friends in OD green later on in the '60s and '70s. Buddies still. Glad that Phil made it home. I'll remember and honor always all those who didn't.

Great website! My Dad served as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, A Co. 501st Av Bn,71st Assault Helicopter Co.1965-66. I'd like to thank you all for your service. You who hang your asses out for us, past and present, are truly heroes. Please accept my thanks. Also, I know I don't need to remind all, but, please remember our current heroes in Afghanistan and Iraq. May God bless and protect all.Sincerely, Pat..

I served with E Company of the 3rd/506th Recon, but not the Long Range version. I was there in 1970 - 1971. Our patrols were usually 5 days or so, and included going into Cambodia in May of 1970. We were at LZ ENGLISH or NORTH ENGLISH with the 4th Infantry Division, and then later in the year, the Unit moved back up to the Phu Bai area, settling in to Camp Hockmuth.
